People ask us this a lot, so let's actually answer it in full.
Every product that makes it into your box goes through the same basic filter, whether it's a big established brand or a tiny company we found through a DM:
1. Would I feed this to my own family? This isn't a rhetorical question — I have celiac disease and I'm raising gluten-free kids, so this is a genuinely personal bar, not a marketing line.
2. What do we actually know about how it's made? We look at whether it's certified gluten-free, made in a dedicated facility, or — if neither — how transparent the brand is willing to be about their ingredient sourcing and facility practices. (If you want the full breakdown of what those terms even mean, we wrote a whole post on it.)
3. Is this something people can't already easily find? The whole point of the box is discovery — introducing you to brands and products you wouldn't have stumbled onto on your own, not repackaging what's already sitting on your grocery store shelf.
4. Would this actually taste good, not just check a safety box? Being gluten-free shouldn't mean settling for "fine, I guess." We hold products to a real taste bar, not just a safety one.
5. Does the brand actually care about this community? We tend to build the best long-term partnerships with brands who are genuinely invested in making gluten-free life better — not just looking for a distribution channel.
Not every box will have every single one of these hit perfectly. But this is the actual filter every single product goes through before it earns a spot in your home. It's the same standard I'd want someone applying if I were the one buying blind — which, honestly, is exactly what all of you are trusting us to do every month.
